Ehsaas Kafalat amounts increased from Rs 12,000 to Rs 14,000 per family
The government has expanded the Ehsaas program from Rs 12,000 to Rs 14000 per family, making it more accessible to the poorest and neediest women in Pakistan. To claim the funds, a woman needs to visit an Ehsaas survey center and fill out biometric details. These include CNIC number, name, family members and their property. Once a woman has filled out the form, she is sent an SMS with a proof of payment.
The government also has introduced a new biometric method for gathering coins. With the help of this new technology, people will be able to collect coins at biometrically enabled ATMs and branchless banking operations. Ehsaas Kafalat payments will be made to families every two months in one or two installments, or in full at the end of the program.
The government has increased the stipend to Rs 14,000 per family under the Ehsaas Kafalaat program in the next three years. Besides the increased stipend, the program now includes access to smartphones for the poorest families. People can apply for the scheme online or through a door-to-door survey.
Those with disabilities are eligible to apply for Ehsaas Kafalah benefits through the special person card.
